Michelle and James
Glasgow University Chapel & Hotel du Vin

“Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong?”
Michelle and James got married on a crisp, clear day last autumn. With strong ties to Glasgow Uni, the West End was the obvious location for their small, family-focused wedding.
The Glasgow University Chapel is real stunner of a venue - we’ve always loved the stained glass, the towering ceilings and the sense of stillness in that space. Their ceremony was an interfaith celebration which drew on Scottish and Maori traditions, symbolising the joining together of two families from either side of the world. James’ gran gave a beautiful reading of a Maori blessing and both mum’s took part in the Scottish handfasting ceremony.
After some time spent at the University Cloisters we headed to Hotel du Vin for the drinks reception and meal. There’s this gorgeous electric blue door nearby, plus the golden leaves falling around us. We do love a pop of colour so we were in photography heaven.
Michelle and James are such a lovely couple (with excellent music taste - anyone who loves Islands in the Stream is alright by us) and it was a pleasure to capture their wedding day.
